The prepared environment should not be a museum. It should be an ordered, calm, yet dynamic learning environment where the materials cater towards every child’s age and ability. The classroom evolves, adapts, transforms; materials are added or removed periodically. These minor changes inspire children and entice activity. Maria Montessori, through observation of the children in her classroom, continuously improved and developed materials. Nienhuis Montessori does the same. Together with Montessori specialists and experts we are continually refining, perfecting and developing new materials.
